Greg Shutt Joins Grubb & Ellis|NCG as Vice President of the Industrial Division
RENO, Nevada (September 4, 2009) Grubb & Ellis|NCG, northern Nevada’s full-service commercial real estate firm specializing in office, retail, industrial, land and investment properties, announced today that Greg Shutt, SIOR, LEED-AP has joined the industrial team as vice president. Shutt comes to Grubb & Ellis|NCG from DP Partners where he spent the last 11 years leasing millions of square feet of warehousing, distribution and manufacturing facilities in the Reno/Sparks area and in 2007, was named Partner and responsible for all aspects of development in northern Nevada.

Since Shutt began his real estate career in 1998 with DP Partners, he has been responsible for leasing millions of square feet of warehousing, distribution and manufacturing facilities in the Reno/Sparks area. In addition to managing every aspect of the local leasing process, he has been involved with build-to-suits, as well as building and land sales and purchases nationwide that have expanded his focus to many points across the country.
In 2007 as a result of the sale of DP Partners portfolio to ProLogis, Shutt was named Partner to DP Partners / Dermody Properties where he was responsible for all aspects of development, leasing, sales and acquisitions for Northern Nevada.
As a member of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR) and a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) organization and a LEED Accredited Professional, Shutt has expertise not only of the local market but also possesses a wealth of knowledge of the industry for which his clients are the true beneficiary. His concerted efforts to provide exceptional customer service not only before the completion of a lease, but most importantly afterwards, has significantly impacted the growth of the long list of distinguished companies with whom DP is privileged to do business in the region.
Prior to joining DP Partners, Shutt led the sales and customer services departments at RR Donnelley & Sons for over 10 years. During his tenure with this firm, one of the industry leaders, he was recognized as “Rookie of the Year” due to his tremendous success with initial sales, and also received several Merit and President’s Awards for his outstanding accomplishments and extraordinary team leadership.
A graduate of San Diego State University (SDSU), Shutt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration. During his busy college years, he played Division 1 Soccer for the SDSU Aztecs, was an active member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, and participated in the United States Marine Corps’ Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia.
Shutt devotes much of his personal time to his wife Sheryl and two children, Nicole and Garrett. In addition, he also enjoys golf, cycling, fishing, team roping and working out at the local gym.
